Oroxcell secures GLP certification

Oroxcell, a contract research organization (CRO) that offers research services to the life sciences and chemical industries, has received good laboratory practice (GLP) certification.

The GLP certification has been granted under the 2004/9/EU directive (safety testing) by the French Health and Safety Agency (Agence Francaise de Securite Sanitaire des Produits de Sante – Afssaps).

Afssaps’ decision was based on a full fledged inspection done by the members of the agency on 18 and 19 January 2011 at the company’s premises in the Biocitech life sciences technology park.

The certification was awarded in connection with the company’s tests on medicines for human use as well as cosmetics covering skin irritation and corrosion, validation of bioanalytical methods, bioanalysis, and cytochrome induction and inhibition.

Oroxcell chairman and scientific director Jean Pachot said this certification will enable them to push ahead with their development projects at the service of human health and the safety of their clients’ products by offering them a real guarantee.
