Bristol-Myers, Tsinghua University sign multi-year strategic partnership

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and Tsinghua University of Beijing, China, have entered into a multi-year strategic partnership.

According to the agreement, Bristol-Myers will fund oncology, immunoscience and structural biology research efforts at Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences.

Tsinghua University vice president Kejun Kang said the university was founded on 22 April 1911, almost 101 years ago.

"We have committed ourselves to working with the finest institutions and enterprises to jointly conduct cutting-edge research," Kang added.

"In that spirit, Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences is building a strategic partnership with Bristol-Myers Squibb."

The structural biology research is the science of mapping the 3D protein structure of biological molecular targets that could serve as the basis for future drug discovery projects.
